On September 23, 2024, more than 60 golfers gathered at the Country Club of Indianapolis for a beautiful day on the greens, united by a shared purpose: to make a difference in the lives of others. The inaugural Garrett Family Foundation Golf Outing was more than just a round of golf. It was a celebration of community, generosity, and impact.
Thanks to the incredible support from sponsors, participants, and volunteers, the event raised nearly $200,000. Every dollar is going directly toward the foundation’s mission of relieving burdens and fostering hope for individuals facing life’s most difficult moments.
Throughout the morning, players enjoyed pristine fairways, spirited competition, and enthusiastic Garrett employees cheering them on at select holes. A DJ kept the energy high by spinning music near the clubhouse, giving the day a fun, upbeat vibe that set the tone from the first tee-off. Many golfers shared that these personal touches made the event feel memorable and one-of-a-kind.
Just as the final holes were underway, the skies opened, turning the outing into a true test of dedication and waterproof gear. We are not saying it poured, but somewhere in the chaos, someone floated the idea of awarding a prize for “Best Use of a Golf Umbrella as a Canoe Paddle.” Spirits stayed high despite the soggy finish, and laughter echoed louder than the thunder.
Beyond the course, the event was a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together for a cause. Rain or shine, real change is possible.
Over the past six months alone, the Garrett Family Foundation has provided direct support to many families navigating unexpected tragedies. Several of those families received help thanks to the funds raised by this very outing. One family recently shared: “I just cannot express how much this means to me and our children. This gift that you all have blessed us with is hope for us to be able to pick up the pieces and have a solid start to making steps to recovery. We all appreciate what you have given us. My words will never be able to express the gratitude we have for you. Thank you and God bless.”
This event helped make that, and so much more, possible.
We are deeply grateful to every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who made this event such a success. Your kindness is fueling real change, and we cannot wait to see what is possible on September 15, 2025, when we host the next outing.
Here’s to another unforgettable day with just a little less precipitation!
